Our host organizations are the main reason behind the success of our programs, and we wouldn't have any placements without the supervision and guidance they provide. It takes a lot of time and effort for organizations to commit to hosting and mentoring our interns, so we deeply appreciate the time and effort dedicated by these organizations to support our mission.
"Though we were excited to receive them, honestly at first we were quite apprehensive since the place of origin is socially, culturally and politically very different from ours. As their Coordinator, I asked how will the interns possibly adjust in our country? The mission to help the poor and learn at grassroots level pushed us to make sure that these interns will be properly received and get the real experience of "GK Way," which is Faith and Patriotism is the fuel of the work and to always operate in Bayanihan (team work for the common good) with the spirit of friendship and trust. Aside from us teaching them how to strategically build the nation from the level of the most neglected (the poor), these two interns from Myanmar affirmed us how noble is the work of GK and that the work transcends borders in the society and the world. This then gave us a higher sense of purpose and accountability to build this nation, our beloved Philippines and to make this world, our common home, a better place."
“Our intern had shown us a dramatic enthusiasm to learn everything we had to offer. We found out that her easy going behavior made her become a very interesting and valuable intern. We had a really great time at work together because she opened her mind to learn everything and try her best to help out our organization.”
