All interns selected to participate in this program will be given an orientation guide to help them understand the program, its objectives, as well as the responsibilities associated with being a participant in this program. Basic information is provided below to help you better understand the logistical process of participating in the program.
Selection Process
Selection will be done by a committee made up of two Internships Asia staff and two regional experts. Committee members will review applications, shortlist and interview prospective interns. A decision will be made shortly afterwards, and candidates will be informed by IA's Internship Coordinator. Internships will begin as soon as appropriate placements are finalized for selected candidates. Please note: the time required to arrange placements may vary by field of interest and the schedules of participating partners.
Financial Support for Participants
All interns will receive support for their travel, visas, accommodations and living expenses. Interns will not receive support for their families or trips back to their home during their internship.
Travel Documents
Individuals accepted into the program will work with the Internship Coordinator to secure all the proper documents required for travel, including a passport and visas. In order to allow enough time to process requests for travel documents, you must first submit the complete IA application before the deadline. We cannot guarantee a foreign consulate will issue the proper documents, but we will make all the necessary efforts to secure them.
Documents and Placement Forms
During the course of an internship placement, several documents are required to adequately develop an individual's expectations and learning objectives. Evaluation documents are required to be completed at different stages of the internship process because they form the core learning objectives during the course of internship placements.
