These are the steps we recommend you follow for participating in Internships Asia's Regional Internship Program:
Determine Whether Your Interests Match with Our Program: This is the most basic step, but it's also one of the most important because our programs are very different from other internship programs. Our focus is on developing the capacities of organizations by focusing on their staff, so we strongly prefer individuals who are currently working with some form of development organization. If you're eager to improve your skills to benefit your organization, than this program may be for you.
Determine Whether Your Availability Matches with IA's Programming Dates: We advertise our programs several times a year, so it's important to choose the intake that's right for you. Typically, we announce our first intake of the year in January, and our second intake is usually announced in May. Other arrangements may be made with specific agreements between IA and development organizations, so it's important to check back regularly for our scheduling dates.
Speak with Your Home Organization's Senior Representatives: If our advertised intakes matches your availability, you should speak with your organization's senior staff to determine how they can best benefit from this program. It's a requirement of our programs to involve your organization because we want to focus on projects you'll work on once an internship placement has been completed. There are times with the staff of IA meets directly with organizations, at which time they can nominate individuals to participate in our program. If this is how you've heard about our programs, that means we are actively seeking to improve the capacity of your organization!
Review New Internship Opportunities: Once you and your organization have determined that our programs can be of benefit, our New Internships postings will help you determine which of our available placements would be best for you to focus on. There are many cases where we do not offer placements that reflect you and your organization's needs, so we encourage you to contact us to determine whether future intakes are scheduled to advertise placements that do meet your needs.
Download and Submit Application Materials Before the Specified Deadlines: Each intake of our programs has its own set of application materials. Please download and complete the correct set of materials for the advertised intake and submit all the materials to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
